Cooling as a Production Input
In an industrial plant, cooling is not comfort — it is an input. Process chillers hold a reaction at temperature, chilled water loops keep equipment inside its operating envelope, and a cold storage area holds finished product that represents a great deal of money sitting in a room. When that cooling drifts, the consequence is not a complaint. It is scrap, a halted line, or a batch that has to be discarded.
Industrial repair therefore starts with a different question than commercial repair: what is the process tolerance, and how long do we have? A two-degree excursion that a tenant would never notice may be entirely unacceptable to a production spec.
The systems are also larger, older, and more interconnected. Process cooling failures propagate — a cooling tower problem shows up as a chiller fault, which shows up as a process temperature alarm, which is where anyone finally notices. Chasing that backwards to a root cause is the actual work.
