Buffalo Mechanical & Refrigeration is a commercial HVAC and commercial refrigeration contractor operating from 3 Texas branches — East Texas, Greater Houston, and Dallas–Fort Worth. We work on commercial and industrial facilities only. There is no residential line, and that focus is the point: the equipment, the failure modes, the compliance requirements, and the cost of downtime are all different.

Texas is a hard climate to cool. Sustained triple-digit heat, Gulf humidity that corrodes coils and cabinets, and a grid that runs near its limit through August all push equipment to the edge of its design envelope. A rooftop unit that would coast in a milder market runs near capacity here, and a refrigeration system with a marginal charge or a dirty condenser does not stay marginal for long — it fails, usually on the hottest day of the year, usually with a full walk-in behind it.

We hold both the HVAC and the refrigeration scope, which means a grocery store, a restaurant, a food plant, or a distribution facility deals with one contractor for the rooftop unit and the walk-in box — not two who blame each other when a space runs warm.
